The School Choice Index participates in a small number of affiliate programs with tools, services, and providers we think are useful to families navigating school choice — for example, tutoring platforms, curriculum vendors, and financial-planning tools. When we recommend one of these providers, we may earn a commission if you click through and sign up. We disclose this clearly, both at the link and on this page.

Editorial independence

Affiliate compensation does not influence which providers we recommend, the order in which they appear, or what we write about them. Coverage decisions are made by the editorial team before commercial discussions begin. We have declined commercial partnerships when we did not think the product was the right fit for our readers.

Provider paid placement

Providers — private schools, microschools, tutors, therapists, and curriculum vendors — may purchase clearly labeled sponsored or featured directory placements. Paid placement is always identified with a Sponsored or Featured label. Paid placement does not affect state eligibility rules, award amounts, application deadlines, program classifications, or our editorial coverage of state law. We do not list a provider as state-approved unless we can independently verify that status through the official state program. A listing on this site, paid or free, does not mean the provider is approved by any state program.

What we will not affiliate-link or sponsor

We do not accept affiliate compensation or paid placement from state program administrators, scholarship granting organizations, or advocacy groups on either side of the school-choice debate. We do not run sponsored editorial content. We do not accept paid placement that alters state-program data, eligibility summaries, or our comparative methodology.

How affiliate and sponsored links are marked

Affiliate links carry the HTML attribute rel="sponsored noopener noreferrer" as recommended by Google’s guidelines for paid and advertising links. At the point of use, sections containing affiliate links display an inline “Affiliate disclosure” callout so readers know before they click. Sponsored directory placements are labeled Sponsored or Featured inline. Paid placement may affect visibility inside clearly labeled provider-directory modules only; it does not buy placement in state-law summaries, award tables, methodology pages, comparisons, corrections, or editorial conclusions.
