Independence

The School Choice Index is editorially independent. We do not accept paid placement, sponsored content, or affiliate compensation tied to coverage. No school, scholarship granting organization, advocacy group, party, or government agency influences what we publish.

Non-partisanship

We do not advocate for or against the expansion of Education Savings Accounts, vouchers, tax-credit scholarships, or any other school-choice mechanism. We describe what each state’s program does and how it works. Readers should not be able to identify the editor’s personal politics from our coverage.

Sourcing

Every factual claim about a state’s program should trace to a primary source: the enacted bill, the codified statute, the most recent administrative rule, or the program administrator’s published guidance. Secondary sources may be used to surface developments; they are not cited as authority.

Conflict of interest

Editorial team members disclose any personal, family, or financial relationship with a program administrator, scholarship granting organization, advocacy group, private school, or vendor whose products appear on the site. Disclosed conflicts result in reassignment of the relevant coverage.

Affiliate relationships

Where we recommend tools, services, or platforms (for example, tutoring providers, curriculum vendors, or financial-planning tools), we may use affiliate links. Affiliate relationships are disclosed at the link, summarized in our Affiliate Disclosure, and never influence what we recommend.
