Odyssey Platform Guide
Odyssey ESA marketplace providers: state-by-state verification guide
Odyssey powers ESA marketplaces in multiple states, but each state maintains its own enrolled-vendor list. Here is how to find approved providers in your state's Odyssey program — and how to avoid assuming a vendor is enrolled just because they appear in another state.
What Odyssey is and how it works
Odyssey is the marketplace platform developed by ClassWallet that several state ESA programs use for vendor management, family account access, and purchase processing. Families with an Odyssey-based ESA log in to a single interface to shop from enrolled providers, view their balance, and track spending history.
The platform is structured similarly across states, but the vendor lists, eligible expense rules, and program-specific features differ by state. Logging into your Texas TEFA Odyssey account shows only Texas-enrolled vendors; a Nevada family sees Nevada-enrolled vendors.
States that use Odyssey for ESA administration
| State | Program | Purchase type | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Texas | Texas Education Freedom Account (TEFA) | Marketplace-only | No outside reimbursement |
| Nevada | Education Savings Account | Marketplace-primary | Universal eligibility |
| North Carolina | Opportunity Scholarship ESA | Marketplace (ClassWallet/Odyssey) | May vary by program year |
| Idaho | Empowering Parents Grant | Marketplace | Confirm current platform in use |
| Wyoming | ESA Program | Marketplace | Confirm current platform in use |
Platform adoption changes as programs launch and renew contracts. Always confirm with your state's education agency which platform is currently in use. See the 50-state guide for current program administrators.
How vendor enrollment works in Odyssey
Vendors apply through the Odyssey vendor portal, which is managed by ClassWallet. Enrollment is free and open to any provider type — curriculum companies, tutors, private schools, therapists, technology vendors, and enrichment programs. Vendors must agree to program terms and may need to pass a basic vetting process before becoming active.
After enrollment, vendors appear in the marketplace for families to browse and purchase from. Vendors can enroll in multiple state programs simultaneously if they serve families in more than one state.
Finding providers by category
The Odyssey marketplace organizes vendors into searchable categories, which typically include:
- Curriculum and instructional materials — physical and digital curriculum packages
- Tutoring and instruction — individual tutors and tutoring centers
- Private schools and microschools — tuition-charging educational institutions
- Therapies and special education services — licensed SLP, OT, PT, and ABA providers
- Technology and software — educational apps, devices, and platforms
- Extracurricular and enrichment — arts, sports, coding, and more

What to do when a provider is not in Odyssey
Share the Odyssey vendor enrollment information with the provider and ask them to apply. The process is free, and many providers — especially independent tutors and small clinics — are simply unaware they can enroll. Enrollment typically takes one to four weeks.
In the meantime, search for enrolled alternatives using the category and location filters in the marketplace. For denial-prevention best practices, see How to avoid ESA purchase denials.
